Praiano, Italy Residence

In the Winter of 2011 Shane and 4 other RISD students (Sam Dabney, Judy Tung, Cassidy Chroust and Adrian Flores) were accepted to a special trip to the Amalfi Coast. Aside from visiting Rome to see famous historical landscapes and structures, the main goal was create and build several spaces for the homeowner at her family home. It is a fantastic property in Praiano (a small town adjacent to the tourist destination, Positano. The Owner had plans to convert the property to a Chef and Artist residency. The team created a long term masterplan, while focusing on several terraces to create an entry garden, vegetable garden and outdoor kitchen. While the views and location did much of the heavy lifting, we were proud to get our hands dirty and build several spaces the hard way.
